I am interested in further exploring cultures and the human condition, in the magic of putting words to music and writing musical language, in international relations, governance and political balance, and, not least of all, in grief support through my writing.
THE FIRST BOOK I wrote was about the renowned Renaissance
art expert Bernard Berenson. He and I shared a remarkable friendship when I was in my 20’s and he in his 80’s. Many years after his death I wrote about him in a 96-page letter, TO BERNARD BERENSON WITH LOVE. Here is the Amazon link and the cover:
“The premise of the book (an unusual friendship between an octogenarian male art expert living in Italy and a young American woman) and the inclusion of the contents of actual letters between them made this book fascinating to read. The author has done a nice job of integrating her prose with the letters and other historical content. The author also humanizes (as opposed to romanticizing) the friendship. She honestly recounts her discomfort upon their first meeting and his unconventional ways. The author effectively tells the story of their budding friendship while resisting what must have been a temptation to sugarcoat it. Internally, the book is very well published (layout and design are well done.) –Writer’s Digest”
TO BERNARD BERENSON WITH LOVE is available at Amazon, but also available through me, the author, for $10 including tax and shipping. Just email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Tea on the Great Wall (Supplement) Please copy and send to others; it is free of charge. The author, me, wants to have this information known to people who haven’t heard that Shanghai saved 20,000 Jewish refugees from Hitler’s gas chambers.
