My darling brother took his final draft of his new book to the printer on Friday afternoon, January 3rd. Then somehow he injured his back, and went to the hospital on Martha’s Vineyard to have it treated. But at 3:15 am on Saturday dawn, only a few hours later, his brave heart just quit.
The cover of the book will feature the painting of the Monmouth’s Galleon shown here. This is a painting by marine artist Eldred Clark Johnson displayed in America’s treasure divers’ headquarters of Margaret and the late Bob “Frogfoot” Weller, W. Palm Beach. Florida. The illustration was kindly provided by Ernie “Seascribe” Richards, W. Palm Beach, Florida, America’s treasure salvage historian.
John’s book tracks the search for the sunken galleon in Vigo, Spain, in fascinating detail. When it is in print in a few months, I’ll post it here along with my company’s other books (ChapmanWorks Publishing.)
For the benefit of those also addicted to treasure diving I will post the obituary about John that appeared in the divers’ newsletter.
