Yesterday was my first Book Signing in Rockport. My lovely and big-hearted young friend Carole Rawley helped me tote books and count money, also keeping me company between visitors at our table at the #Rockport Daily Grind. I never knew that so many peop;e here have an interest in China. People stopped by and chatted while I sipped my Texas Pecan coffee and jalapeño bacon cheese quiche. Yum
Then today at the invitation of my friend #Steve Johnson, I had the honor of speaking informally before the #Lions Club, a group that I have admired for many years. Here too there was interest in China, and with the Lions’ mission of helping others in need, there was particular interest in the Chinese refugees during the Japanese invasions of China. The Rockport Lions focus on the needs of children: their vision, their education, their overall well-being.
I”m so glad that I didn’t quit on writing this book; it was hard work through four drafts, each one different from the earlier ones. The result appears to have been worth the struggle.
